A few months ago, while Pepper was on her way out of the country, I told her that I would put up the next blog within a week....let's face it: I procrastinate, but as I'm sitting here tonight procrastinating other things, I figured I would put up a post. The last big thing I shot was a wedding and since then, I've spent every free second editing, ordering, and packaging that wedding. I've used my camera and lightroom very little for anything else. Photos are loading up on empty flash cards, waiting to get space in my now overflowing external hard drive...they may never get there. Anyway, the assignment: Plug in my hard drive for the first time in three weeks (longest it's been since RMSP) and choose the very last picture in my catalog.

Sweet Pepper, I hope yours are better than mine.

My photo: from New Year's Eve weekend, camping on a farm in southern Iowa. I went into town that day with some girls and the only store open was a little Podunk "Alco" like a VERY mini walmart. I bought a blonde hair piece. The model in the pic is my friends dad. He would probably kill me if he ever saw that this was put on the internet.

P.S. I'm going to add another pic from that weekend that I'm actually proud of. My second attempt at "real" HDR. It's SWEET ;)

Love you and miss you both!
Mae

Assignment: take the last picture from lightroom, do nothing to it & post

Altoona Palooza

This is my little town. The last time we had a community festival, I was probably 6 or 7: Altoona Baloona. It seemed so huge then! (Keep in mind that to a lot of these kids I am Miss Wetzel. I've subbed for all the schools around here and some are my 8th graders.)

Me Ladies

I finally figured it out! Here are a couple shots from the beginning of our crazy ride together in Missoula. When these ladies run through my head I 1. *sigh* with relief that they are not waiting in my house with some crazy idea for the next project and 2. *smile* because I was lucky to find these two amazing souls to share one crazy summer with!.. cheers!

See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil

It has been nearly one week since the Sweet Peppers in Mae blog was created. In that time we have had a 66.6% contribution rate between the 3 members. With this odd sequence of numbers, one with a superstitious nature may say this blog is cursed! But we say... See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil!!
Pure goodness and full hearted commitment here:) So with that, we have agreed on our first official trio collaboration. We will each be doing a time-lapse! DA dA dA dun... of...
well...
really...
anything!!!
This is very exciting for me as I have never officially been the producer of one, only a character. Our deadline is Monday, which means Sweet will be ready Sat morning, while Mae and Pepper will be uploading at 11:58pm Monday night!
Also the remaining 33.3% of the team will be completing the 1st post before this time-lapse is due. Making this a PURE 100% DEAL!!!!!!!!!
Here is a link to our first dabbling into the time-lapse world a few weeks back.....

*picture taken: possibly week 3 into SI, an assignment for Tonys class about breaking the rules. *Interesting note: 1st night the trio ever hung out together!

Memories by Mae

It's 9:45 Sunday night....one week after this assignment was due and less than a few hours before the next post is due. I'm working my way from the beginning and finally putting some words to these pics. (Keep in mind I'm a teacher at 7:30 tomorrow morning and have yet to do my full lesson plan for tomorrow. I'm just embracing the procrastination.)
Oddly, I've been thinking about this first photo a lot recently. It was the first photo I took of Pepper & Sweety together and probably my shortest photoshoot of the summer. Five shots in a few minutes with props provided by the Sweet kitchen table. This fast little assignment on memories ended up making a very lasting memory for me though. (Ironically, it was also taken just several hours before it was due....or is that ironic.) Anyway, this photo was basically directed by the models and proved what amazing friends they are!
THE BEAUTIFUL BLUE HOUSE! I'm so glad I don't have to walk past this (sorry Cass.) From dance parties and burnt cookies to dark photoshoots and painting sessions, this placed housed a lot of great times. (get it? housed. haha) I miss everything about it, but I still have the key so if I return to Missoula, maybe I can just take a little visit!
